It is good for me to keep in mind how life is always changing. It never stays the same for very long. It is like the Gino Vannelli song says, “The Surest Things Can Change”. After a difficult period, things are starting to take form in the direction I want to go. After many delays, “Infinite Man” is days away from being released! And as of today, people can download any or all of the songs digitally (see the “Buy” menu for the link). After a month or two of not being able to write anything, I finally started to write songs again. I was wondering if I’d ever be able to write again. Nothing was coming. I’m not sure why. I guess life was just too distracting for me to focus. At the same time, my short film, “Lonely Boy” is in the editing phase and is shaping up quite well! And I am performing improv each week at “Bang Comedy Theatre”. Performing Improv in front of an audience has turned out to be a huge challenge. Not knowing what is going to happen, or what I will do or say until it is coming out of my mouth is terrifying! However, it is great training for being in the moment, and a monumental exercise in listening. And listening helps me in some way with songwriting. If I can get out of the way, the song is there (I don’t know exactly where “there” is – but it is floating in front of me somewhere outside my consious mind). What a journey this has been (and continues to be)!
My next mission is to start doing live gigs to promote “Infinite Man”. I’ll keep you posted on shows on this website.
