Things are going well. “Infinite Man” is now featured on several music sites (including GarageBand.com, CDBaby.com, DigStation.com and RadioFire.net), as well as my website. I’ve gotten some wonderful, encouraging and inspring emails from people who’ve listened, and purchased the CD (keep the emails coming please!). There have been many comments to me about how my “heart was put into the music”. Well, it was! Great to know it comes across to others! A huge “thank you” to those of you who’ve listened to my music, bought my music and have shared my music – as well as those who read my Blog. Stay tuned for more news…

Infinite Man’s Release!!!

It is here! “Infinite Man” has been released!!! After many months of waiting, it is now available for purchase and/or downloads! You can listen to samples on the “Listen” link off the main pages, and can download or buy the CD from the “Buy” page. If you want to hear entire songs, you can also find me on MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/jayjacobson) where you can hear full versions of 4 songs.

I am very proud of “Infinite Man”. It represents a lot of work and dedication, and I’m thrilled with the result. A large part of it, I must say, is due to the incredible Manuel Iman! He is such a brilliant musician. He brought such life to my songs, and his guitar work in particular is very moving. Please support him, by listening to and buying his music!! I don’t think he has an official website (some fans have made sites about him), but you can find his music on Amazon.com, in particular his solo CDs, “Legacy” and “Flowers in the Desert”.

I hope you all enjoy “Infinite Man”, as much as I enjoyed making it. And I hope it speaks to you in some way. If it does, please feel free to leave a comment and let me know!

Songwriting, “Infinite Man”, & Life update

It is good for me to keep in mind how life is always changing. It never stays the same for very long. It is like the Gino Vannelli song says, “The Surest Things Can Change”. After a difficult period, things are starting to take form in the direction I want to go. After many delays, “Infinite Man” is days away from being released! And as of today, people can download any or all of the songs digitally (see the “Buy” menu for the link). After a month or two of not being able to write anything, I finally started to write songs again. I was wondering if I’d ever be able to write again. Nothing was coming. I’m not sure why. I guess life was just too distracting for me to focus. At the same time, my short film, “Lonely Boy” is in the editing phase and is shaping up quite well! And I am performing improv each week at “Bang Comedy Theatre”. Performing Improv in front of an audience has turned out to be a huge challenge. Not knowing what is going to happen, or what I will do or say until it is coming out of my mouth is terrifying! However, it is great training for being in the moment, and a monumental exercise in listening. And listening helps me in some way with songwriting. If I can get out of the way, the song is there (I don’t know exactly where “there” is – but it is floating in front of me somewhere outside my consious mind). What a journey this has been (and continues to be)!

My next mission is to start doing live gigs to promote “Infinite Man”. I’ll keep you posted on shows on this website.
